Tottenham have opened new contract talks with 18-year-old Luca Williams-Barnett, according to The Sun, although his current deal already runs until 2028.

A Tottenham man has erected a folding table on the forecourt outside the stadium to attend what he describes as the contract talks, after The Sun reported that the club had opened discussions with Luca Williams-Barnett, 18, over new terms.

The Herald understands the talks are not taking place outside the stadium, in public, or at any location the man has been able to establish. He arrived at 8:40am nonetheless, with a tablecloth, a flask and two chairs.

The Sun also reports that Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Chelsea are all monitoring the player's progress. The man has noted the word and has begun monitoring the gate.

It says they've opened talks. Talks need a table. I've provided a table.

The player signed his first professional contract a year ago and the deal runs until 2028. The man has interpreted this as a lot of paperwork and brought a second biro in case the first dries out.

He has also prepared a one-page proposal in pencil on the back of an envelope. It requests a first-team debut at the earliest convenient fixture, which he says is a fair opening position and leaves room to move.

A steward employed by the club has informed him that the offices are round the other side of the building. The man thanked him, said the other side may well send someone, and straightened the cloth.

I'm not here to hold anything up. I'm here to make it easy for them.

By lunchtime the second chair remained empty and he had begun reading the terms aloud to it.
