About this newspaper
The High Road Herald is a work of satire. Every article on this site is invented, based on true events. The news it starts from is real; what we print about it is not a report of something that actually happened.
We take real football news as a starting point, so the fixtures, the results and the transfer stories in the background are usually real. The people reacting to them are not. Our supporters, correspondents and letter-writers are all made up, including the ones who sound exactly like someone you know.
We write about players, managers and pundits as public figures doing things they actually did. We do not invent quotes for them, we do not attribute private motives to them, and they are never the butt of the joke. The joke is always about us — the people in the stands, the group chat and the comment section.
If you have landed here from a shared screenshot and are wondering whether it was real: it was not.
