A report says Tottenham are suddenly realising they must play 18 year old midfielder Luca Williams-Barnett, with Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg reporting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, while Spurs remain winless after five Premier League fixtures.

A Tottenham man arrived at the stadium forecourt at 8:40am on Thursday with a wind-up alarm clock, a folding stool and a flask, having read that the club is suddenly realising it has to play Luca Williams-Barnett.

The claim appears in a report published this week, which describes the 18 year old midfielder as arguably the best overall player of the pre-season and notes that he has had only a few minutes off the bench, in the League Cup against Charlton Athletic.

The Herald understands the man has read the word suddenly as a matter of timing rather than tone, and has therefore positioned himself to be present at the moment of realisation.

It says suddenly. That means it could happen any minute. I'm not missing it.

The report adds that Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg has reported Chelsea, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund to be keeping a watchful eye on the player. The man has noted this, and has turned the clock to face the main doors.

He also pointed out that Roberto De Zerbi spoke about the possibility of minutes for the player before the season began, which he regards as advance notice. With Spurs winless after five Premier League fixtures, he has set the alarm for a quarter past three, which he describes as the usual hour for this sort of thing.

A groundsman passed twice during the morning and was asked if anything had been realised. He said he would check.

I'll know it when I hear it. Probably a door.

The alarm has since gone off twice, both times for the flask.
