Parrott £67.5m Return Makes No Sense Says Waddle, So Supporter Prices Peanuts Outside Stadium

Chris Waddle told talkSPORT Bet he would not see the sense in Tottenham buying Troy Parrott back for €80million (£67.5m), having sold him to Real Betis this summer in a £17.1million deal that netted Spurs around £3.4million.
A Tottenham man has spent a quiet Wednesday outside the stadium establishing precisely what the club received for Troy Parrott, after reading that it was peanuts.
The remark was made by Chris Waddle to talkSPORT Bet, in the course of explaining why he would not see the sense in paying €80million (£67.5m) for a player Spurs let go for a fraction of it. The man has taken the word at face value.
The Herald understands he arrived at the forecourt at 9:15am with a calculator, a flask and a carrier bag from the corner shop, having first established that Spurs netted around £3.4million from the summer sale to Real Betis.
At a pound thirty-five a bag, that is two and a half million bags. I've done it twice. Nobody tell me it was a figure of speech.
He has so far purchased eleven bags, arranged them along the base of the railings in order of salt content, and begun a ledger. The remaining 2,519,989 are described as outstanding.
The figures supplied by the source are not in dispute. Parrott cost AZ £6.7million from Excelsior Rotterdam, scored 51 goals in 97 appearances there, and has since scored the winner against Real Madrid. The man has noted all of this on the back of a bus ticket and drawn a line under it.
A passing steward asked whether the bags were a protest. The man said they were a valuation, and asked him to stand back from the shells.
He has eaten four of the eleven bags and says this is not a reflection on the fee.
