TEAMtalk reports that Chelsea are among several clubs monitoring Luka Vuskovic, who has made six Premier League appearances for Brighton since leaving Tottenham, and a group chat of nine has met to discuss it.
A Tottenham five-a-side group chat of nine members convened an extraordinary sitting on Wednesday morning after TEAMtalk reported that Chelsea are among several clubs monitoring Luka Vuskovic, the defender Spurs sold to Brighton in the summer.
The chat, which has met continuously since 2021 and has never once been used to arrange a game, was called to order at 7:42am by a member who had read the story on the 259.
It is understood the report names Bayern Munich as "extremely keen", with Barcelona and Chelsea also keeping a close eye, and Liverpool and Real Madrid reportedly monitoring without any formal approach. The chat noted all five clubs in order and then noted them again, in case anyone had joined late.
Matching rights. Sky said matching rights. I'm not saying anything yet, I'm just saying matching rights.
The chat then established, over the course of fourteen minutes and thirty-one messages, that Brighton paid £46m plus add-ons, that Tottenham retained a 20 per cent sell-on clause, and that Vuskovic's contract runs until 2031. One member asked whether any of this was new. He was thanked for his contribution.
A motion to express concern about the player's six Premier League appearances, 528 minutes and average rating of 7.52 was proposed, seconded, and then withdrawn when a member pointed out that nobody could remember what the concern was.
The chat resolved instead to reserve its position until Thursday, when a second source is expected, or the member with the train signal, whichever arrives first.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:58am. The 259 was at Seven Sisters.
