Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Tottenham got a very, very good fee for Luka Vuskovic, sold to Brighton for a reported £46m, and a North London kitchen received the same advice four times before the toast was cold.

A Tottenham household was advised not to obsess over Luka Vuskovic four times before the kettle had finished, according to a Herald review of the morning's reading. All four items trace to a single interview given by Stefan Borson to Football Insider.

The first website reported, accurately, that Borson considered £46m a very, very good fee for the 19-year-old, now at Brighton. The second said Borson urged calm. The third said Spurs had been warned against regrets. The fourth said a stark message had been delivered, and did not say to whom.

The Herald laid all four beside the original and checked them line by line. Between them they contain one interview, one fee, one centre-back, one south coast club and the observation that Brighton scouts think he could one day be worth £100m. There is nothing added in any of them, though each repeats the £100m sentence a little earlier than the last.

That's the fourth time I've been told not to obsess, and I wasn't obsessing until the second.

The man made the remark to a second person at the table, who had read the same four items on the same phone and had been waiting politely for the toast.

All four headlines used the word regrets. None identified anyone who had any. The original interview, the Herald notes, was advice against dwelling on them, a distinction that did not survive the third paragraph of the second website.

Asked what he had learned, the man said the fee had been £46m. He added that he had known this since the summer, and that he had it written down somewhere.

He has since opened a fifth website, to be thorough.
