Spurs Web reports that Savio has created 11 chances, more than any other Spurs player, while the club have scored three goals in six games. The supporter's net came with two pegs, one of which he has replaced with a flask.
A Tottenham man has pitched a child's pop-up goal on the forecourt of the stadium, on a day with no fixture, after reading that Savio has created 11 chances this season and that very few of them have ended in anything.
Spurs Web reported that no Spurs player has created more chances than the Brazilian, who also ranks first for expected assists and big chances created. The same report notes that no player has managed more than one assist and that the club have scored three goals in six games.
The man, who last played competitively at a works tournament, read the figures twice and concluded that the difficulty was one of availability.
Eleven chances. Somebody has to be stood there at the end of it. I've brought my own boots.
The Herald understands that the report sets a target of one player in double figures and 25 or more assists from the top three. The man has taken this as a personal target and written it on the back of an envelope, which is currently under a pebble.
He has positioned the goal in line with the stadium's main gate, so that any passes breaking lines have a line to break. The report credits Jan Paul van Hecke with playing such passes, and the man has left room on the left for one.
The net is rated by its packaging for ages three to six. It was supplied with two pegs, one of which has been replaced with a flask of tea, and it has so far been fed nothing at all.
The forecourt remains empty, and the goal is still waiting.
