David Ginola told football.london he is not sure Tottenham's players respect Roberto De Zerbi, with Spurs bottom of the Premier League on three points from six games and Coventry City due on Monday.

The Herald can report that a remark made once by David Ginola to football.london, on the subject of whether Tottenham's players respect Roberto De Zerbi, was received at one North London kitchen table four times before nine o'clock this morning.

The original remark was a question. Mr Ginola said he was not sure the players listen to what the head coach is saying, and added that he hoped it would work out for him. Spurs sit bottom with three points from six matches and three goals scored, and meet Coventry City on Monday.

At the first website it was a doubt. At the second it was a concern. By the third, which the householder reached at the point of buttering, it had become a warning, and the question mark had been quietly removed.

It started as him not being sure. Now it's a red flag. He's not said a word more since Sunday.

The fourth site led with huge red flag, a phrase the Herald has been unable to locate in anything Mr Ginola said. It is understood to have been supplied by the headline.

A Herald audit of all four pieces found that each contained the same table position, the same three points, the same three goals and the same Manchester United draw. No outlet added a source, a fact or a second question.

The householder said he had read the lot in the hope of finding out what the players actually think. He was able to establish only that they were the players, and that there were several.

The toast went cold at the second website.
