Kulusevski Minutes Hinge On Two-Goal Cushion, So Supporter Brings Two Scatter Cushions To Gate

Spurs Web reports that Dejan Kulusevski, named on the bench by Roberto De Zerbi for Monday after more than 500 days out, would almost certainly come on if Spurs lead by two goals or more, and the cushions are from a settee.
A Tottenham man arrived at the stadium gates on Sunday afternoon carrying two scatter cushions, having read that Dejan Kulusevski's Monday involvement depends on a two-goal cushion.
The passage in question, published by Spurs Web, says that while minutes will "depend on the state of the game", one would think De Zerbi would almost certainly bring him on if Spurs lead by two or more.
The man read the word cushion once, on his phone, at the bus stop. He went home and collected the cushions from the settee.
They said he needs a cushion. I've brought two. That's a cushion each side, and nobody can say I didn't think it through.
The stadium was closed. No match was in progress, and the gate has been shut since the previous Monday, a fact the man described as "not the point".
The Herald understands that Kulusevski, who last played before the 2025 Europa League final, posted a picture of his eyes blacked out and the words "I told you I would be back". The man has taken this as confirmation that everything is on track, and has placed the cushions against the gate to reserve the lead.
At 4:15pm he moved one cushion six inches to the left. It was understood to be a tactical decision.
By last orders the cushions were still there, and slightly damp.
