Spurs Web reported that footage from Hotspur Way shows Savio taking part in warm-up drills, dispelling social media rumours of an injury, and the vigil outside the stadium was stood down at 11.52am.

A Tottenham season ticket holder stood down a self-appointed vigil outside the stadium at 11.52am on Tuesday, after footage emerged of Savio taking part in warm-up drills at Hotspur Way.

The vigil began at 9.40am, when the man read on social media that the winger had suffered an injury and had not travelled with the squad to Marbella. He attended the stadium in person, the stadium being the nearest available building.

He arrived with a camping stool, a flask and a first aid kit, which he opened and closed several times without removing anything. Our correspondent understands he had no medical training beyond a laminated card from 2011.

I wasn't going to say anything until we knew more. But I did think something wasn't right.

The man monitored the situation from a position near Gate Four, where he assessed the winger's condition by looking at the gate. Asked what the assessment showed, he said the picture was unclear.

The footage, which Spurs Web describes as showing Savio clearly in the warm-up, reached his phone at 11.51am. He watched it twice, then a third time with the sound off, and requested a fourth opinion from a man walking past with a dog.

The winger was said to have impressed on the left against Manchester United on Saturday, in a game that finished with a stoppage-time point. The man confirmed he had been fully relieved by this at all stages, and had in fact only come out to be sure.

He has since packed the first aid kit away, unused, and is reported to be keeping the stool in the boot in case of developments.
