Souza Unused At Porto Again And Supporter Outside Stadium Keeps Tracksuit Top On For Weeks

Spurs loanee Souza was an unused substitute in Porto's 2-1 win over Maritimo on Saturday, according to Spurs Web, and a season ticket holder has since taken a seat on the bench outside the stadium.
A Tottenham man has taken a seat on a bench outside the stadium and says he will remain there until he is called upon, following news that Souza was an unused substitute again for Porto on Saturday.
The 20-year-old left-back, on a season-long loan in Portugal, watched from the bench as his side beat Maritimo 2-1. His wait for a first competitive minute of the season continues, a fact the supporter has read, in his words, "four times and slowly".
The Herald understands the man was moved to act by a report that Souza had left Porto fans drooling in a friendly against Deportivo La Coruna during the international break. He has concluded that a player who drools the crowd in a friendly cannot reasonably be left out, and that the matter is therefore one of timing.
It's only a matter of time. O Jogo said so. First minutes not far away. I've put the top on so I'm ready when it comes.
The publication in question did report that Porto's coaching staff have been impressed by the player's hunger and maturity in training, and that Francesco Farioli has given him individual instructions. The supporter has not been given individual instructions, and has been working on his own tactical development with a flask.
Porto face Real Betis in the Champions League on Wednesday. The man has circled the date on a beer mat and will, by his own account, be "warm by then".
Passers-by have been invited to pass him the ball. One did, and he has kept it.
He has not yet been told he is not on the team sheet.
