Supporter Tests Resolve Of Stadium Gate After Conterio Links Serie A Clubs With Bergvall January Move
Barry Napier · Transfer Correspondent · Reading time: a half
White Heart Lane reports, citing Marco Conterio, that several Serie A clubs are preparing to test Tottenham's resolve over Lucas Bergvall in January, a month after the midfielder signed a contract until 2032.
A Tottenham season ticket holder spent Wednesday morning outside the stadium pushing against a locked gate, after reading that Serie A clubs are preparing to test Spurs' resolve over Lucas Bergvall.
The report, carried by White Heart Lane and attributed to Marco Conterio, states that several Italian clubs are monitoring the Sweden midfielder's situation ahead of the January window. It is understood that the window is roughly twelve weeks away.
The man did not consider this a reason to wait.
Somebody has to find out what the resolve actually feels like. I'm only getting a baseline.
He began at 9:15am with the shoulder, moved to the flat of the palm at 9:40, and at 10:05 applied what he described as a light, exploratory kick. The gate held on all three occasions. He logged the result in a notebook as firm.
The report also records that Bergvall was handed a new contract until 2032 last month. The man was aware of this and said it was a good sign for the gate, though it complicated the method.
By lunchtime he had moved on to the side entrance, where he repeated the procedure, and then to a waist-high bollard, which he said had given a little.
He intends to return in January with a clipboard.
The gate remains closed.
