Tottenham captain Micky van de Ven told an interview highlighted by ESPN FC that he would bring Harry Kane back, calling him the greatest Tottenham player of all time, and the supporter has been outside since 8am.
A Tottenham supporter has placed a spare key beneath a doormat outside the stadium after the club captain said he would bring Harry Kane back to North London.
Micky van de Ven made the remark in an interview highlighted by ESPN FC and shared by The Spurs Watch on X. He described Kane as reliable, said he guaranteed 30 goals every year, and called him the greatest Tottenham player of all time. The Herald notes that a reunion remains purely hypothetical.
The supporter, who has not been consulted by anyone, arrived at 8am with the mat, the key and a flask. It is understood he regards the matter as one of logistics.
He said immediately. He didn't say eventually. That's a man with a plan.
No plan has been published. The captain was asked which player he would most like to see added to the squad and answered the question, which is the entire extent of the development.
The supporter has nonetheless swept the forecourt twice and moved the mat nine inches to the left, citing the prevailing wind. Passing stewards have been told it is not a matter for them.
At midday he was joined by a pigeon, which stayed for several minutes and was not asked for a view.
The mat says Welcome. The stadium is closed until Saturday week.
