Journalist Graeme Bailey reports that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Roma full-back Emanuele Lulli, 19, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United also said to be interested, and the man at the railings has been there since nine.

A Tottenham season ticket holder has begun keeping tabs on Roma full-back Emanuele Lulli, in the literal sense, after a report by journalist Graeme Bailey said that Spurs are doing so in the figurative one.

The man arrived on the stadium forecourt on Sunday morning with a ring binder, a packet of adhesive index tabs and a flask. It is understood that each of the first four tabs represents one of Lulli's four senior appearances for Roma in Serie A this season.

It says keeping tabs. It doesn't say how many. I've started with four and I'll see how I feel.

The report adds that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all in the race for the 19-year-old. The man responded by attaching five further tabs, one per club, on the reverse side of the binder, where he says they can be monitored separately.

Lulli's contract expires at the end of the campaign, which the report says could allow a move in January or a free transfer next summer. The man has divided the binder accordingly, with one section marked January, one marked summer and a third, at the back, marked unsure.

The piece also describes the player as someone who loves a tackle. A tab marked tackle was added at around eleven, and has so far been the first to come loose.

A woman passing with a pushchair asked what he was doing. He told her he was keeping tabs. She said she had assumed it was something to do with a bar.

By four o'clock a gust of wind had taken two tabs across the car park, and he was down to seven.
