Porro Barcelona Story Goes From Close Eye To Casting To Done Deal Before Tea Cools

Spurs Web reports that Barcelona want Pedro Porro from Tottenham and that Chelsea could help them, and a North London householder says five websites had repeated it by half past eight.
A report that Barcelona want Pedro Porro from Tottenham, and that Chelsea could help them, reached a North London kitchen table shortly after seven on Friday morning. By half past eight the householder had counted five separate websites carrying it.
The original, published by Spurs Web, says Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the situation. It cites Mundo Deportivo, which is reported to describe Porro as taking part in a "casting" for the right-back position.
By the second website, the householder recalls, the close eye had become monitoring. By the third, monitoring had become a pursuit. By the fourth, Chelsea, who in the original might help only if they bought Jules Kounde, were described as already involved.
The first one said casting. By the fourth he'd basically got the part.
The Herald has read all five. Each links to the one before it, and the total quantity of new information added across the chain is none. The conditional wording, that any transfer could hinge on Kounde, survives in full only in the original, near the bottom.
It is understood that the original also records that Porro signed a new contract in the summer and is expected back from injury on 24 October, in time for the derby against Chelsea. These details sit below the point at which the householder's thumb had already moved on.
The householder has since moved the marmalade twice, to give the phone a better angle, and has been advised that a sixth website is on its way.
The tea was not reheated.
