The Athletic reports that Tottenham Hotspur have approved the word Tottenham again after supporters raised concerns, and the club's big screen has been displaying it for some weeks.

A Tottenham supporter arrived outside the stadium on Friday morning carrying a stepladder, a flask and a single wooden letter T, after reading that the club has reversed its position on being called Tottenham.

The Athletic reported that Tottenham Hotspur have approved the word again, having listened to supporters' strong views on the matter. The change was welcomed by fan representatives at a recent meeting of the Fans Advisory Board. The Herald understands the man was not at that meeting and has not been invited to the next one.

In November 2024 the club unveiled a remastered brand identity, and in February 2025 the Premier League emailed broadcasters to say Spurs was the preferred short form. The man says he has not used the shorter word since, and that he kept the letter in a drawer for the duration.

I never stopped saying it. They've come round to me.

The Athletic also reports that the words 'This is Tottenham' have been regularly displayed on the big screen outside the stadium ahead of home games this season. The man had not noticed. He has been informed twice and is believed to be taking it in.

Our correspondent watched him climb four rungs, hold the letter up to the wall at arm's length, and nod. When asked what it was for, he said it was just in case the club needed one.

A passing steward confirmed the club has not requested a letter T from any member of the public, and that the stadium already has a good number of them.

The letter fits.
