Supporter Counts £30 In Coins Outside Stadium As Elland Road Away Application Closes Online Monday

Tottenham have confirmed a full allocation of 2,960 tickets for the 12.30pm trip to Leeds on Saturday 7 November, with applications online until 10am on Monday 12 October, and adult tickets priced at £30.
A Tottenham man has stationed himself outside the stadium with £30 in coins, arranged in rows of five on a folding table, after the club confirmed ticket details for the trip to Leeds on Saturday 7 November.
The club has stated that applications must be made online before 10am on Monday 12 October. The man has read this twice and, on the second reading, concluded that the word was a courtesy.
It says before ten on Monday. I've come Saturday. That's what you call being early.
Tottenham have confirmed a full allocation of 2,960 away tickets for the 12.30pm kick-off, with card payments to be processed on Wednesday 14 October. The man has declined to use a card, on the grounds that coins cannot be declined.
He has also set aside a smaller stack of £2, which he expects to be handed back through the gate at the appropriate moment, in case his seat turns out to have a restricted view.
The Herald understands the stadium is closed on non-match days. The gate has not been asked for a view and has not offered one.
Our correspondent observed the man inform a passing cyclist that selling a ticket above face value brings a lifetime ban. The cyclist had not mentioned selling anything.
The club has said that the two loyalty points will arrive only once Leeds staff have scanned the ticket. The man has asked the gate whether it could scan him now, to save time.
He has begun counting again.
