Reader Follows Oliver Irow Interview Back To PA Sport And Finds The Same Sentence Three Times
Philippa Crane · Media Editor · Reading time: one pint
Oliver Irow, the Tottenham academy graduate on loan at Plymouth Argyle, told PA Sport that the route into the first team is hard, a remark relayed by ESPN and Spurs Web while Argyle sit top of League One.
A Tottenham man at a kitchen table on Wednesday morning read the same interview three times, in three places, and has confirmed that it contained one sentence.
The sentence came from Oliver Irow, the 20-year-old on loan at Plymouth Argyle, and was given to PA Sport. In it he said that it is hard because there are a lot of players and all of them are trying to do the same thing.
ESPN relayed it. The sentence was kept intact. Spurs Web then ran it, kept the sentence, and added that Irow had opened up on the challenges, a development the sentence does not contain.
It's the third time I've read it and it's still hard. They've not added anything. They've just made it sound sadder.
The Herald has audited all three versions. New information added: none. The name of Mikey Moore appears in each, as does the word pathway, which by the final version had acquired a dream to go with it.
The only fresh fact in the chain is that Argyle are top of League One and Irow has four goals in eight. It appeared once and was not disputed by anyone.
The man forwarded the first version to the group chat with the words "have you seen this". He then forwarded the second, and then the third, and is understood to be monitoring for a fourth.
The kettle has been boiled again.
