football.london reported that Yang Min-hyeok, on loan at Westerlo, came off the bench in the 85th minute to score in a 5-1 win over Royal Antwerp, and the report covered all 17 Spurs loan players.
A Tottenham man sat down to breakfast on Monday and read about a goal four times, which the Herald can confirm is the number of times the goal happened.
The original report, published by football.london, stated that Yang Min-hyeok came off the bench in the 85th minute for Westerlo and scored in a 5-1 win over Royal Antwerp. It described the finish as a wonder goal. It was one item among 17 loan players. It was a perfectly good report.
The second website, which the Herald understands read the first, described it as a stunner. No further detail was supplied. The distance covered, the long throw and the far post were all present in the first report and were, in the second, still there.
It said wonder goal on the first one. By the third it was the goal of the weekend. I've only had one slice.
The third website moved the goal to the top of a list of loan performances and attached the word forgotten to Yang's name, a word the Herald notes had also been in the original. The fourth website used all of the above and added absolute scenes, which refers to a team-mate hugging him.
The Herald has compared all four versions line by line over a second pot of tea. The goal is the same goal. The scoreline is the same scoreline. The only item not present in the original is the word scenes, which was added in transit and has not been sourced.
Souza's difficulties and Jamie Donley's goal were also covered in the original and were also repeated, in the same order, without a single new fact between them.
The man has since closed the tablet and asked whether there is any more toast.
