4-4-2.com reports that Tottenham are monitoring Benfica's 18-year-old right-back Daniel Banjaqui alongside seven other clubs, and the working group notes that Benfica would consider a sale only at €35m.

The Accounts Office Working Group met at 12:40pm on Tuesday to consider a report that Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Benfica right-back Daniel Banjaqui, and rose at 12:52pm having agreed to monitor the report.

The item was tabled after 4-4-2.com stated that the 18-year-old is also being monitored by Brighton, Juventus, Roma, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad. The Chair noted that this made eight clubs and one chair, and that the chair was his.

I want it minuted that we are not saying Tottenham are signing him. We are saying Tottenham are in a list. The list is long.

The group heard that Benfica hold the player under contract until 2031, that his release clause is reportedly €45m, and that the club would reportedly consider a sale only from €35m. A member from Payroll asked whether this was per annum. She was thanked for her contribution.

It was further reported that no formal negotiations have begun and that intermediaries have merely gathered information. The group resolved that this was the correct stage at which to begin forwarding the story to people who had not asked for it.

A motion to move the matter onto the second monitor was carried, although the second monitor was found to be displaying the same page as the first. The Chair described this as consistent.

The group adjourned to Wednesday, pending a second source, a third biscuit and the return of the remote.

The minutes have been filed under Miscellaneous, between the fire drill and the kettle.
