BBC Sport has published a video asking how much German Mikey Moore, on loan at Cologne from Tottenham, has learned so far, and it requires JavaScript to be enabled.
A Tottenham season ticket holder has begun learning German outside the stadium after BBC Sport published a video asking how much of the language Mikey Moore has picked up while on loan at Cologne.
The video, which this newspaper was unable to play without enabling JavaScript, does not say how much German has been learned. The supporter has proceeded on the basis that it is a great deal, and that he is behind.
If the lad's on the numbers, I can't be stood here on two.
He arrived at the forecourt shortly after nine on a day with no fixture, carrying a phrasebook, a flask and a folding stool, and took up a position facing the closed gates of the stadium.
By ten he had established the words for hello, thank you and turnstile, the last of which he has since addressed directly to turnstile three, which did not respond.
The Herald understands the matter was first raised over breakfast, where a related topic page offered him the option to follow Tottenham Hotspur, the German Bundesliga and Football. He has followed all three and describes himself as keeping up.
A passing groundsman asked whether he was waiting for anything in particular. The supporter replied in German, then repeated the answer in English, which was that he was waiting to be ready.
He has reached the number seven.
