Spurs Web reports that Omar Marmoush wore Skechers boots at Hotspur Way on Thursday, the company Harry Kane signed a lifetime deal with in August 2023, and a Tottenham father of two has taken the phrase literally and measured the forecourt.

A Tottenham father of two has begun following in the footsteps of Harry Kane, in the strictest sense available to him, after learning that Omar Marmoush has switched to Skechers boots.

The Herald understands that eagle-eyed supporters on social media noticed the change when the forward stepped out for training at Hotspur Way on Thursday, seemingly ending his arrangement with his previous sponsors. Kane signed a lifetime global endorsement deal with the same company in August 2023.

The man read the report at 7:40am, over a bowl of porridge, and reached the phrase following in the footsteps before the second spoonful.

It says literally. It says it right there in the first line. I'm not going to be the one who ignores that.

By ten o'clock he had ordered a pair of Skechers trainers, paid for next-day delivery, and borrowed a tape measure from a neighbour who did not ask why.

The pair arrived on Friday. The man has since been observed on the forecourt of the stadium walking a route he describes as the same path as the lads, placing each foot where he believes a foot might previously have been.

The report notes that Marmoush is still waiting for his first goal in Spurs colours, and that De Zerbi has selection decisions to make before Old Trafford, including whether Dominic Solanke leads the line. The man has read this section too, and has marked it with a pen.

He has completed four laps and intends to do a fifth once the gate stewards finish their tea.
